I try to keep it real. I don’t have time to worry about what I’m projecting to the world. I’m just busy being myself. – Demi Lovato
Recently I read an article, which stated bluntly, ‘be yourself’ is a terrible advice.
And it kept me thinking. Shouldn’t we be ourselves? Be authentic self? Our time on Earth is limited, why live the our lives as a second rate of someone else?
And I kept on thinking. Should be we staying “authentic” as in who we are now? Or should we strive to become the person whom we truly want to be? This involves changes, and definitely different from the current “authentic” us.
If our “authentic” self is lazy, and we strive to be hardworking, should we change?
If our “authentic” self is a snort, and we strive to be more polite, should we change?
If our “authentic” self is a boar, and we strive to be someone to look upon , should we change?
Now that we know we want to change, the question comes. How do we change?
Know who you truly are right now.
Decide who you want to be.
Understand the gap between the two.
Get the information on how to fill in the gap.
Practise, practise, practise.
All these are simple advice. But the difficult part is to do it, and to consistently apply it.
To a better you.
