Elephant on leashes

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. – Thomas A. Edison

Have you heard the story of the elephants in the circus?

The grand and might creatures of forest, tamed with a tiny rope. It sounds absurd, isn’t it? When they are young, they are tied to a strong rope. They tried to resist and break free, but to no avail. Over time, they resented and gave up, thinking they have no power to break away from the “magical” rope.

The reality is nearer to us than we assume. It’s called learned helpless. We encounter a problem, we couldn’t fix it, we give up, we never try again.

Sounds familiar?

If you’ve heard about fixed mindset, it is the same too. You believe in limited ability. That we can never improve upon our skills. That we are doomed with what we are capable of now.

It is time to challenge our assumptions of ourselves.

It is time to question our limitation.

It is time to really sit down and reflect, what are we truly capable of.

What are the limiting beliefs that you have right now, that are outdated and need to remove?
