Have you ever wished that you are awesome in the things that you do? In her TedX Talk, Tasha Eurich shared her 3-steps framework in being awesome.
Know thyself. Everything starts with awareness. Be honest, don’t overestimate yourself. Recognize your own incompetence. First step in being awesome is to identify the lacking within you in achieving the awesomeness. Set objective measures and use it as a yardstick and see where do you stand.
Pick one thing to work on. You may be tempted to try out many things. A lot of ideas running through your mind. Don’t stretch yourself thin. Remember the Pareto Rule – the 80/20 rule. Focus on the one thing that would make the most impact in achieving your goal.
Practise daily. Excellence is not inborn. Instead, what makes someone exceptional is that they earn it through daily practice. Remember 10000 hours of deliberate practice? Think what is it that you want to improve on, list out the steps to achieve it, and reflect on your effectiveness in achieving it.
Effort and commitment would bring you to achieve your goals. It is just a matter of time before you become awesome.
