Lessons from uncle mover

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. – Confucius

This morning, I helped out my friends in house-moving. Finally, they have a place to call their own. Still waiting for mine though.

Can you believe that two people can have the total items of 6 people? Unbelievable.

Anyway, it was a half an hour trip to their new place. As I shared the back of the lorry with one of the movers, he began to share some lessons with me.

Uncle Steve said:

Take care of your health. You are young, you don’t realize it. But when you get older, you will see all the pain.

Learn basic skills. Driving. Handicraft. Computing. Etc. You will never know when you need it most.

Or when you find yourself unemployed one day.

Don’t buy branded clothes. You won’t be wearing the same clothes every single day. Save  up the money for better use.

Be frugal and yet still enjoy  life. You can eat buffet once in a while, but not everyday.

Stay healthy. Cut down on meat consumption.

Choose your life partner wisely. You are still young. Plenty of time. Let it come naturally.

In life, there are many so-called strangers who cross their paths with us. If you would just be open enough, and lend your ears – you will learn much more.

Whom are you going to listen to today? And learn some life lessons from them?
